Today’s Horse Racing Odds: Saturday 2nd April

There are six meetings on the agenda on Saturday across the UK and Ireland, with cards scheduled at Ayr, Chepstow, Leopardstown, Lingfield, Newbury and Wolverhampton.

Newbury’s eight-race card comes first, where the going is Good, good to soft in places.

The opening contest is due to start at 13:00, and punters can take advantage of Betfred’s “Super Extra Place” promotion in a handicap chase contest at 14:10.

Four places are up for grabs, and connections of First Figaro (3/1) will fancy their chances after successive victories for trainer Venetia Williams.

Betfred’s “Extra Place” promotion is also available in contests at 14:45 and 15:20, while Newbury’s card comes to a close at 16:30.

Chepstow will also host eight races on Saturday, with the card scheduled to run between 13:08 and 17:07 on Good ground.

Betfred’s “Extra Place” promotion will be available at 13:42 and 16:37, and Philip Hobbs’ Great Ocean (3/1) could be one to consider, despite a poor run last time out.

Grand National Betting Odds

The first of eight races at Ayr is due to start at 13:15, with the going Good to Soft, good in places at the Scottish track.

Betfred’s “Super Extra Place” promotion is available in the Scottish Grand National at 15:35, with seven places up for grabs.

Pat Fahy’s Stormy Judge (13/2) could have a say towards the end, after a solid run in the Leinster National at Naas recently.

Ayr’s card comes to a close at 17:15, with a national hunt flat race wrapping up the meeting over two miles.

Lingfield’s meeting is scheduled to run from 13:55 until 17:50, with the going Standard on the polytrack.

Leopardstown hosts seven races from 14:00, and the going is Good for Saturday’s racing, which should come to a close at 17:25.

Saturday’s final card comes from Wolverhampton, with the going Standard on the tapeta all-weather. The first race is due to get under way at 17:30, while punters can watch all the action until 20:30.
