Today’s Horse Racing Odds: Saturday 26th February

Saturday’s stand-out racing action comes from Kempton, where the feature race is the Coral Trophy, while there are also meetings at Chepstow, Lingfield, Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Fairyhouse in Ireland.

Kempton stages a seven-race card between 13:15 and 16:45, with the Grade Three Coral Trophy Handicap Chase due off at 15:37, while there’s also the Grade 2 Adonis Juvenile Hurdle and Grade 2 Dovecote Novices’ Hurdle on the agenda.

In the 14-strong feature, which Betfred are have labelled a ‘Super Extra Place Race’, paying five places, Zanza may be worth consideration at his 10/1 odds if he can avoid the jumping errors that have hindered his chasing career.

The eight-year-old looks well-handicapped this afternoon and, stepping up to 3m for the first time, is expected to run well. The obvious dangers include Cap Du Nord (13/2), Annsam (7/1) and Phoenix Way (8/1).

Cheltenham Festival Betting Odds

The Adonis Juvenile Hurdle sees the unbeaten-over-hurdles Knight Salute (6/4) go for his fifth victory on the bounce and he is set to lead the market after impressive Grade Two victories at both Cheltenham and Doncaster recently. Scottish Juvenile Hurdle winner Impulsive One (6/1) is also likely to contest.

Chepstow is the first meeting of the day to get underway at 12:35 and there are eight races at the Welsh track, with the finale due off at 16:35.

The action at Lingfield starts at 13:00 and finishes up after the 16:55 with the Winter Derby, due off at 14:05, the feature. Lord North (10/11) looks to be the one to beat in the 25th renewal of this event as he returns after his impressive Dubai Turf victory last year.

Fancy Man (7/2) won the trial for this race over C&D at the start of the month and therefore cannot be discounted, while Alenquer (3/1) and last year’s winner Forest Of Dean (14/1) are others to note.

Newcastle has seven races this afternoon between 13:35 and 17:00, before Wolverhampton’s evening meeting (16:40-20:15) takes place.

Across the Irish Sea, Fairyhouse’s seven-race card, meanwhile, is scheduled to start at 14:00 and finishes with the 17:25.

The planned meeting at Chelmsford has been called off due to damage at the course.
