Sunday may not be the busiest day of the week but Grand National Trials Day is coming up from Punchestown, potentially giving us some pointers to bigger targets ahead, while there is also action from the UK with meetings at Southwell and Exeter.
It gets underway across the Irish Sea with a seven-race card from Punchestown, with three of those races benefitting from Betfred’s ‘Extra Place’ promotion.
The first of those is the opener at 13:40 with Tout Est Permis and Shady Operator disputing favouritism at 2/1 for the 16-strong contest, while Floueur heads the market at 4/1 for the second Extra Place opportunity – race three, the Grand National Trial Handicap Chase at 14:40 – with four places being paid out at 1/5 of the odds in both of those races.
The penultimate race of the meeting at 16:10 is the final opportunity on the card to benefit from the extra place, with five places paid out for the 21-runner Handicap Hurdle in which Petrol Head heads the betting at 3/1.
Southwell provides us with a seven-race card on the tapeta, starting at 13:50 before the final race goes off at 16:50, and there are offers aplenty to get stuck into.
Cheltenham Betting Odds
Betfred are offering a free bet if second with your stake refunded as a free bet up to £10 in the first race in which Strike Me A Pose is the 3/1 favourite, while the same promotion is available in race five at 15:50, in which So Macho is the market leader at 5/2.
The offers do not stop there though as the Extra Place promotion is available in both race four and six, with three places paid out at 1/5 of the odds.
Last but by no means least Exeter’s seven-race jumps card gets underway at 14:00, running though until the lucky last at 17:00.
Again there are plenty of offers with three races offering an extra place, with three places paid out in races four, five and six at 15:30, 16:00 and 16:30 respectively, with Jerrysback the market leader at 11/4 in the last of those, ahead of Belami Des Pictons at 7/2.
