Tuesday’s UK racing is understandably headlined by the opening day of the 2022 Cheltenham Festival, with the action at Prestbury Park getting underway at 13:30.
There is also afternoon fare from Sedgefield, while Southwell and Newcastle host all-weather cards in the evening.
First, to the Cotswolds, where they go off seven times on day one of the Festival from 13:30 to 17:30 and Betfred are going big with their offers.
Six of those seven races feature either the Free Bet if 2nd, Extra Place Race or Super Extra Place Race promotions but the odd one out, the Champion Hurdle at 15:30, has to be the main focus of the day.
Will 8/13 defending champion Honeysuckle be able to defend her crown and maintain her unbeaten record for Henry De Bromhead? Rachael Blackmore is again on board and will be confident of landing another Festival winner here. However, there is quality throughout the field, with 4/1 Appreciate It and the improving 9/1 Teahupoo both being mentioned by the tipsters.
Slightly before the festivities at Prestbury Park get going, they begin the day Sedgefield, with their first race at 13:15 and concluding at 17:10.

The 13:50 carries Betfred’s Extra Place Race offer and a 6lb rise in the weights may not be enough to stop last time out winner Astra Via, who is 3/1, having also finished second here in February.
After the excitement of the afternoon, there are also a couple of evening all-weather cards for punters to explore, with racing at both Southwell and Newcastle.
Southwell hosts seven races from 17:20 to 20:30 and the Extra Place Race is available on the 19:30 where 7/2 Protected Guest undoubtedly appeals.
A placer in his last 10 outings, the gelding may have won only once during that spell but was second by just a head at Wolverhampton last Monday and could go one better here.
Finally, and they go off six times at Newcastle from 17:45 to 20:15 and both the penultimate effort and the closer carry Betfred’s Extra Place Race offer.
In the former at 19:45, a couple of recent C&D wins suggest Antony Brittain’s 9/4 Spartan Fighter is the one to be feared, while half an hour later, look for 7/4 Judy’s Park to go one better after a near miss here last month.
