Premier League Betting Odds: Dyche delivers Weghorst update

Sean Dyche expects January arrival Wout Weghorst to be fit and available for Burnley’s trip to face Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday (Brighton 7/10, Draw 11/4, Burnley 9/2 – Match Betting).

Weghorst (12/5 To score anytime) signed for the Clarets from Wolfsburg last month in a £12million deal after Chris Wood was snapped up by relegation rivals Newcastle.

The Dutchman is expected to be a key figure in Burnley’s pursuit of survival this term but his involvement this weekend appeared to be in doubt.

He left the field with 15 minutes remaining in the 1-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday after sustaining a knock to the hip, but Dyche insists the deadline-day addition is good to go for the clash with Brighton.

Dyche said: “He got a knock on his hip but it hit a nerve and was quite painful. But it has settled down in the last few days and he was out there in light training today and I would expect him to be around it on Saturday

“He came off the other night with a knock but he was more than happy to continue.

“I asked him for a three game week and he said ‘no, I am fine’.”

Maxwel Cornet’s involvement from the start at the Amex isn’t guaranteed, though, with Dyche admitting the Ivory Coast international is still adjusting to the demands of the Premier League.

He added: “Maxwel we have really pushed hard in the last week because we have got to get to him to Premier League fitness without breaking him.”

The Clarets (4/11 – To be relegated) head to the south coast sitting bottom of the standings and without a win since October 30th, although they have drawn three of their last four.

Despite Burnley’s obvious struggles, Brighton boss Graham Potter, who will be without Lewis Dunk due to suspension, isn’t taking them lightly.

Potter said: “Burnley have got great experience, I’m sure they won’t be writing themselves off and I’m certainly not.”
