Few are giving Hull KR a chance of beating Betfred Super League leaders St Helens on Friday, however, Elliot Minchella believes they can earn a shock result at Craven Park (Match betting – Hull KR 9/2, Draw 22/1, St Helens 2/11).
Saints (13/8 – Grand Final winner), once again, look like the team to beat in the Betfred Super League after starting the 2022 campaign with three successive victories.
They’ve conceded just 18 points and scored 86 during those three outings, including a 28-8 win over last season’s Grand Final runner’s-up Catalans Dragons (9/2 – Grand Final winner).
KR, meanwhile, lost their opening two games before getting their first win on the board at the expense of Castleford Tigers last time out.
History also suggests it should go the way of Saints after prevailing in each of the last 10 meetings with the Humberside-based outfit.
However, Minchella, who returned from injury against Cas, insists KR go into every game believing they can get a positive result, saying: “If you step over the white line to go play and you don’t think you’re going to win, you’re probably in the wrong place.
“We’ve got a lot of respect for Saints and all of our opponents but at the end of the day, we want to win.”

There’s also action at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday when unbeaten Warrington Wolves host Catalans (Match betting – Warrington 1/4, Draw 20/1, Catalans 10/3).
Warrington (9/2 – Grand Final winner) are the highest scorers in the Betfred Super League this term, registering 88 points, but they face a big test against an improving Dragons side.
Catalans have recovered from their season-opening loss to Saints by beating Wakefield Trinity and Leeds Rhinos to climb to seventh.
Wolves have won the last three meetings with Catalans, including a 16-6 Challenge Cup victory last season, while they haven’t lost at home against the French outfit since 2011.
