Irving comes good for Brooklyn

Kyrie Irving showcased his skills as he scored a season-high 50 points to help the Brooklyn Nets (13/2 to win the NBA Championship) end a four-game losing run at the expense of the Charlotte Hornets.

The 29-year-old was in inspired form, and he displayed what his team have missed while his game time has been limited due to his decision not to take the Covid vaccine.

Irving landed nine of his 12 three-pointers as he helped his side to a 132-121 victory on Tuesday evening. The Nets remain fourth in the Eastern Conference, but they will be hoping to build momentum after a tough few days.

Elsewhere, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 39 points as the Milwaukee Bucks won 142-115 at the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Bucks’ fifth win in a row means they remain the Eastern Conference’s in-form team, but the spotlight will be on leaders Miami Heat (10/1 to win the NBA Championship).

They face West Conference leaders Phoenix Suns (9/2 to win the NBA Championship) on Thursday in what could be one of the games of the campaign so far.

The Suns won on Tuesday against the Orlando Magic, as Deandre Ayton scored 21 points and 19 rebounds to help his side win 102-99. They will need to be at their very best on Thursday, though, as they try to assert their dominance ahead of the playoffs (Money Line – Heat 3/10, Suns 5/2).

The Bucks will be back in action against the Atlanta Hawks at 01:00, while the Los Angeles Lakers face the Houston Rockets at the same time.

At 00:00, the Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets will do battle, while the Detroit Pistons will square off with Chicago Bulls.
