Corberan relishing “big opportunity” against Hull

Huddersfield Town head coach Carlos Corberan says he is determined to use their match against Hull City on Friday night (Match Betting – Hull 7/4, Draw 9/4, Huddersfield 17/10) as a chance to get back to winning ways after successive defeats.

The Terriers have been one of the surprise packages in the division this season and currently sit fourth in the table, despite being tipped to struggle in pre-season.

Corberan’s men had enjoyed a long, 17-match unbeaten run before finally being beaten 2-0 away to Millwall in mid March.

Automatic promotion now looks like a long shot after they followed up that defeat with another, losing to promotion rivals Bournemouth 3-0 before the international break – Huddersfield (8/1 to be promoted) now sit six points behind the Cherries, who also have three games in hand.

Corberan’s men will aim to get back to winning ways on Friday night as they take on a Hull City side who appear all but safe in the Championship.

Shota Arveladze’s side have a 13-point cushion over the bottom three with seven games remaining while their recent form has been mixed, winning two, losing two, and drawing one of their last five games.

Corberan believes Friday’s clash represents a good opportunity for his side to get back on the winning trail and continue to solidify their play-off bid.

The Terriers are currently four points clear of seventh-placed Middlesbrough.

“They’re a team that I’ve had the opportunity to watch many times and they are one team that are another high challenge in the Championship,” he said.

“We are going to give this game the highest level of importance because it’s a big opportunity for us to change the dynamic of the previous two games and start to show what we can do on the pitch.”
